City Of Power

City Of Power is an abstract painting that was composed with a touch of realism. The artist chose actual buildings in his composition, from two of the major cities in Texas. In keeping with the Reflected City Series theme, water reflections are seen in the foreground. City Of Power was painted with palette knife on canvas, in oil, and measures 30” X 40”. It is framed with a premium Italian, gilded, yellow gold floater frame.

Blue is the artist’s absolute, all time favorite color. Just about any shade of blue, he would say, and especially the Cobalt blue waters of Pacific Ocean, out at sea. In the artist’s opinion, such is an experience of color with perhaps no equal on planet earth. City Of Power could  have been titled “Blue Power”. Twin, black glass towers share the blue power stage. If you are familiar with Texas oil, you will immediately recognize them.

For the most part, the composition of the artist’s paintings isn’t driven by decor. He would tell you that he thinks about it, because after all,  who wants artwork that just doesn’t have a pleasing fit with their decor? In this case, however, he was very conscious of making a statement in blue, and composing specifically for those who love blue as much as he does.
