Into The Golden Age

Into The Golden Age is the understated work in the show. The color palette selected is a predominately soft violet, blue and gray, with neutrals and just a touch of orange and gold, as might be seen from reflections of a morning or evening sun. Painted with palette knife on canvas, in oils, it measures 48” X 36”. The premium Italian frame is a gilded, yellow gold, floater frame.

Having just completed the painting, Reflected City In Red, the artist was thinking in terms of a more subdued and understated palette. As his vision for the painting began to play out, some of the artist’s favorite colors found their way into the line up. High rise abstract city buildings flow from the reflecting waters of the bay, into an infinite horizon beyond. Here is a city that communicates the power and presence of God, through those who built it over the many years of its existence.
